The senior Vicar Choral, Maurice Bevan (1921-2006), sings Charles Villiers Stanford's A SONG OF TRUST, from the 6 Biblical Songs, originally written for baritone voice. Recorded in the Cathedral in February, 1977, whilst the organ was in the throes of a major rebuild. At that time, only the Great and Solo divisions were operative, and Barry Rose accompanied at the old console, inside the case where the new North Choir division was to be installed a few weeks later.
